Mateusz Pałka Trio was founded in 2016 in Cracow by polish pianist Mateusz Pałka, bassist Piotr Południak and drummer Patryk Dobosz.
All members of the trio are graduates of the Academy of Music in Cracow.
The trio performs its own compositions and arrangement.
The group combines european folklore, jazz and classical music to create a unique style that excites, inspires and moves people in a charismatic way that is uniquely Slavic.
It is with this spirit in mind that the album received it’s name “Sansa”.
At it’s core Sansa refers to a woman who sees delight and value in the smallest and simplest of things.
The band is the winner of the second prize at 40 Edition Of The International Festival Jazz Juniors in Krakow (2016).
The trio performed during numerous festivals in Poland and abroad: NiCa Jazz Festival in Spain (2018), Fara Music Festival in Italy (2017), 44th International Jazz Piano Festival in Kalisz (2017), Summer Jazz Festival in Cracow (2017,2016), Hevhetia Festival in Kosice, Slovakia (2017), Jazz Juniors Festival in Cracow (2016), Starzy i Młodzi czyli Jazz w Krakowie (2017) and many more.
Mateusz Pałka Trio debut album „SANSA” was released by the Italian record label “Emme”.
The album received plenty of positive reviews and recommendations of critics as well as journalists in Poland and abroad.
MPT got 1st place in the Jazz Polish Debut of the Year 2017 ranking by Jedynka radio journalist Adam Dobrzyński.
